Each year some of Walker County’s youngest residents contend for the title of Walker County Fair Prince or Princess. The contestants’ first appearance is in the Walker County Fair Parade. The children wave and throw candy to the crowd as they ride through downtown Huntsville.
The children then compete on the first Friday of the fair in the main building of the WCFA fairgrounds. Contestants are judged on personality, poise, and attire. The children always put on a great show!
The winners of each contest participate in the rodeo Grand Entry on Saturday night and assist the Queen’s court in handing out awards throughout the week of the fair.
